STUDIO AKN

  • Based in New York City, Studio AKN was created by Adarsh Nellore, an emerging designer researching machine craft, digital futures, and generative design, having studied Biomedical Engineering at Duke University and Innovation Design Engineering at the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London.

In his practice, Nellore employs advanced 3D scanning technology and a novel sculptural technique to forge unconventional, human-centered objets d’art. Through generative algorithms, photogrammetry, and advanced additive manufacturing techniques, he collaborates with machine intelligence to recreate a range of forms––from interior objects to human anatomies––delving into the essence of objects and demonstrating a new age of design in which data becomes material, and forms are shaped by machine perception.
